Privacy Policy

Effective date: October 3, 2026

BlueBlurry is made by Ananchai Mankhong. This policy describes how the BlueBlurry iPhone app uses and stores information.

BlueBlurry processes your recordings, imported videos, selected images and audio on your iPhone. These media files are not uploaded to a server for BlueBlurry processing. Face and body detection, face landmarks, masks, background effects and voice processing run locally using Apple frameworks and models bundled with the app, including MediaPipe and a Core ML face detector.

Effects depend on your settings and can miss identifying details. A processed video is not a guarantee of anonymity. Review the result before saving or sharing it.

Permissions and selected media

Camera and microphone. BlueBlurry requests access when preparing the camera screen. Camera access provides the preview and video recording. Microphone access provides recorded audio and the optional voice test, which records a short sample for local playback.

Photos. Saving a reviewed video to Photos requests add-only access. This lets the app add a video without receiving permission to browse your whole library. Recording or importing a video does not automatically save it to Photos. You choose when to save reviewed single videos or a reviewed batch.

When you import a video or choose an image, the iOS picker gives BlueBlurry access to the items you select. The system may retrieve a selected item from iCloud Photos if it is stored there. You can change camera, microphone and Photos permissions in iOS Settings.

Storage on your iPhone

Originals and processed videos. Recording and importing can create an uncensored original in the app's storage. By default, the app attempts to remove that original after a processed copy is created in Takes, unless you enable Keep uncensored originals. An original can remain if processing or deletion fails. Processed drafts can remain in Takes before you confirm review.

Creator Presets and batch work. Saved presets contain your chosen names, effect settings and any copied custom images. A batch keeps local progress and review records so interrupted work can resume. It may create working copies of source videos, including retained uncensored originals, plus intermediate results and copied images. Working copies can remain after a failed or interrupted operation until successful processing or batch cleanup. Deleting the source take does not immediately remove those separate batch copies.

Preferences and backups. The app stores preferences locally. It is configured to exclude its media folders, take list, picked images, Creator Presets, preset image assets, batch records and working copies from iCloud and computer backups. Other preferences may be included in device backups according to your iOS settings. These exclusions do not control a video after you save it to Photos; iCloud Photos and other Photos settings apply there.

The app attempts to remove voice-test recordings and other temporary rendering or sharing files during normal cleanup or a later app launch. Interrupted operations or cleanup failures can leave temporary files.

Recording and processing status can appear on the Lock Screen or Dynamic Island through iOS Live Activities.

Purchases and Apple services

BlueBlurry uses Apple's StoreKit to load subscription plans, purchase or restore Pro, and check access. These functions can communicate with Apple's App Store services. The app receives transaction information such as product and transaction identifiers, transaction dates, subscription expiration, grace period and revocation status to determine Pro access.

Apple processes payment and Apple Account information. BlueBlurry does not request or receive your payment card details. Apple may provide the developer with sales and subscription reports. Apple's handling is described in App Store and Privacy. This purchase activity is separate from local media processing.

Accounts tracking and diagnostics

BlueBlurry does not require a BlueBlurry account, request location access, use advertising identifiers, or include advertising or third-party analytics SDKs.

The app writes technical diagnostics on your device, including processing timestamps, frame and face-detection counts, detector status, operation status and errors. The import-detection log contains no images or media filenames and is configured to be excluded from backups. It does not currently have a fixed automatic deletion period. Other technical messages use the device's system logging facilities.

If you choose to share analytics with Apple and app developers in iOS Settings, Apple may provide diagnostics and aggregated app-use information under its own settings and policies. See Apple's analytics settings.

Sharing and deleting data

Sharing a reviewed video through the iOS share sheet gives the file to the destination you select. That destination handles its own copy.

Deleting a take removes its library entry and attempts to delete the original and processed files listed for that take. Separate batch working copies can remain for recovery as described above. Deleting a preset removes its saved preset record; copied preset images may remain in app storage after the preset is deleted.

Deleting the app removes its app storage through iOS. Copies already saved to Photos, sent to another destination or included in an existing backup are managed separately and are not removed by deleting a take, preset or the app. Deleting the app does not cancel an App Store subscription; manage subscriptions through your Apple Account.

Support email

If you email us, we receive your email address and the message and attachments you choose to send. We use this correspondence to respond to your privacy or support request. The support inbox uses Gmail, operated by Google; Google's processing is described in its Privacy Policy. Deleting a take or uninstalling BlueBlurry does not delete correspondence already sent by email. Contact us at ananchai.mankhong@gmail.com if you want to ask about deletion of a support conversation.

Privacy and Support website

The Privacy and Support website uses Cloudflare hosting. Cloudflare may process ordinary web request information, such as your IP address and browser details, to deliver and secure the pages. We have not added advertising or analytics scripts to these pages. Provider practices are described in Cloudflare's Privacy Policy. This website is separate from media processing in the iPhone app.
